NASA SPACE APPS CHALLENGE, Bangalore, 18-20 October 2019
Since its inception in 2012, NASA Space Apps Challenge, a part of NASA’s Earth Science Division, has become the world’s largest global hackathon, engaging thousands of citizens each year across the globe in a 48-hour global hackathon to work with NASA in building innovative solutions for challenges we face on Earth and in space using open source data.
It was an open platform for anyone who has a passion for creating a difference and was focused on developing real solutions to global challenges. The hackathon focussed on collaborative problem solving with a goal of producing relevant open-source solutions to advance space exploration missions and improve life on Earth.
The International Space Apps Challenge, held worldwide from October 18-20, 2019, and Embright Infotech got the centre at Dayanand Sagar University, Bengaluru. The hackathon invited worldwide communities of technologists, coders, citizen scientists, students, engineers, artists, designers, story tellers, makers, builders and everyone who are enthusiastic to gather and build project solutions to challenges using NASA’s open data. Space Apps 2019 welcomed around 18,000 participants from 200 locations in 75 countries, producing thousands of projects in response to Earth Science challenge statements written by NASA.
Embright Infotech received a good learning experience through solving problems and came up with innovative ideas. The category of participation was “THE ARTSIDE OF THE MOON”. The challenge was to create an artistic work to communicate, inform or inspire others about Human’s return to the Moon. Embright Infotech made a virtual reality experience where one could experience the future of human exploration in a Lunar base. The possibility to experience the Moon’s surface through a virtual drone, which was mapped to the Real-World drone was made. This helps in scanning the Lunar surface which in turn helps in assisting the scientists in data collection. The ideas were made to reality within the stipulated 48 hours. Embright Infotech successfully became one among the 9 finalists from about 30 participants, by creating a Lunar environment that showcased their ability to implement XR in training and simulating astronauts and machinery in space.

Dubai World Trade Centre, 06-10 October 2019
GITEX is the global technology week hosted by the government of Dubai in an initiative to promote the growth of technology. This year companies from around the globe gathered in Dubai World Trade Centre from 6th to 10th October to exhibit their products and technological advancements. The major area focused on technologies related to AI, ML and IoT. Various governments supported the startup ecosystem to promote the growth of innovative companies across the globe.
The major initiative in promoting the companies within the startup ecosystem was through the GITEX SUPERNOVA challenge for which more than 100 companies registered as GITEX Future Stars. There were 10 major categories listed out and each company pitched to become the ultimate champion.
About 35 companies were shortlisted as finalists out of which two companies were from India. Embright Infotech was the only company from Kerala Startup Ecosystem that got selected as a finalist.
During the GITEX expo, Embright Infotech was invited to demonstrate its technology at the Inventor Connect Meet organized by the Indian Cultural Centre, Abu Dhabi. Vinay Narayan, Vice President of Platform Strategy and Developer Community for HTC, showed immense interest in the company's product Auticare, an XR-AI based Assistive Technology Learning platform for ASD and special education and has agreed to support the company in the development of the product and related platforms.
Embright Infotech has received a lot of connections from Global Cooperation Council and from the Middle East and North African Region for strategic and business tie ups to scale the product in these areas. GITEX 2019 was definitely one of the best International platforms the company could get to promote the latest technology and received almost 50 prospective clients both in private and government sectors.

NIPMR (National Institution of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation) an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Social Justice, Govt. of Kerala) organized a grand gala event from October 2nd, to celebrate the 150th birthday of the Mahatma Gandhi, to 6th, which is the Cerebral Palsy Day. The theme for this year was “Celebrating Possibilities”. It was a 5 day exhibition consisting of Assistive Devices, which held in the Shakthan Ground, Thrissur. It helped to promote and encourage productive minds in the field of Assistive Technology and different applicants participated with innovative, novel and creative products in this field. It was an excellent platform to showcase each product and to demonstrate them too.
The other highlights being, an assessment camp by NIMPR team, talk by eminent speakers on various topics related to CP and as an icing on the cake, each day ended with cultural programs by the differently abled.
Embright Infotech was shortlisted for the 5 min presentation competition out of 20 companies and was invited for the presentation on 5th October. Minto John Mathew, Business and Development Head delighted the audience and the judges by presenting the topic “XR- AI Based Assistive Technology Learning Platform for ASD & Special Education” and bagged the 3rd prize, and was awarded with certificate and memento.
Embright infotech had a great time meeting people from different sectors which ranged from parents, institutional heads, teachers, doctors, therapists, entrepreneurs, IAS officers, ministers etc. Many eminent personalities such as Prof. C Raveendranath, Minister of Education, Kerala, Sreemathi K.K. Shailaja, Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Kerala, Dr. M.K.C. Nair, Vice Chancellor, Kerala University of Health Sciences, Mr. Jeevan Babu IAS, Director General of Education, Mr. Vijayaraghavan, Former Planning Board Member, Mr. Ashique Hydher Ali, WHO Certified wheel chair trainer, experienced our product and gave valuable feedbacks.
The Leela Palace, Kovalam, 27-28 September 2019
The Second Edition of Huddle, one of the most coveted events in Tech Startup Ecosystem in India, was conducted on 27 & 28 September 2019 at the picturesque private beaches of The Leela Kovalam. The conclave was inaugurated by the honorable chief minister of Kerala, Sri Pinarayi Vijayan.The event was organized by Kerala start up mission (KSUM) and Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI). Kerala collaborated with many globally reputed technology firms in Huddle Kerala which was Asia’s one of the largest congregations in the start-up eco-system . The event, which hosted an array of technology experts and marketing leaders, offered a unique platform for startups to showcase their products before technology and industry leaders from around the world. More than 30 speakers, investors and industry challengers were also part of ‘Huddle Kerala, 2019’. The conclave was the focal point for tech startups and the entire spectrum of stake holders of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, including the government, investors,mentors, and industry.
EMBRIGHT INFOTECH exhibited the product AUTICARE which is the XR-AI Based Assistive Technology learning platform for ASD & special education.Mr.Anil Agarwal, IAS, Joint Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India visited Huddle Kerala 2019. He experienced Auticare and was greatly excited and impressed in the demo and he appreciated the team. Principal Director of Accenture Ventures, Anoop N also admired the firm. The company also got a best opportunity to pitch the investors and received appreciations from many. Huddle Kerala 2019 was one of the best platform that startups could use to reach investors, customers and the media, and it also acted as a platform to promote entrepreneurship in students, which has been one of the pillars of the Kerala government’s startup policy
Dubai World Trade Centre, 14-18 October
The Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX) is an annual consumer electronics and computer trade show, conference and exhibition that takes place in Dubai, and attracts numerous participants from across the globe.
Around 100,000 visitors and 4,500 exhibitors took part in the biggest edition of Middle East’s premier IT showcase which is one of the world’s largest gatherings of emerging IT companies and was held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from October 14 to 18, 2018 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
The GITEX 2018 event was mainly aimed at the display of innovative technological products but apart from that, it made the public and private sectors to join hands to bring forward the innovation of the latest technologies for a better future.
About 20 start-up companies from Kerala Pavilion was selected to attend the trade show in Dubai and delightfully Embright Infotech was one amongst them who got the glorious opportunity to exhibit their excellence.
